A thrilling start ahead!

It’s almost time: today marks the beginning of the 85th Škoda Tour de Luxembourg! Over five days, some of the world’s top riders will once again deliver exciting racing on the roads of the Grand Duchy.

For this 85th edition, the organizers are especially pleased to welcome back several renowned riders. Among them are the winners of the 2022 and 2023 editions, Mattias Skjelmose (Lidl-Trek) and Marc Hirschi (Tudor Pro Cycling), along with Irishman Ben Healy (EF Education-Easypost), yellow jersey wearer and major protagonist of the 2025 Tour de France.

They will be joined by other high-profile names: Brandon McNulty (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), recent winner of the GP Montréal, Romain Grégoire (Groupama-FDJ), winner of the Tour of Britain, as well as two former Giro d’Italia winners, Richard Carapaz (EF Education-Easypost) and Tao Geoghegan Hart (Lidl-Trek).

From a Luxembourgish perspective, attention will focus on reigning national champion Arthur Kluckers (Tudor Pro Cycling), Michel Ries (Arkéa-B&B Hotels), Mats Wenzel (Equipo Kern Pharma), and the national team, made up of young talents who recently shone at the Tour de l’Avenir.

Stage 1: Luxembourg-Knuedler – Luxembourg-Fëschmaart (152.8 km)

The stage begins with a neutral start on Place Guillaume, in the very heart of the capital, before the peloton descends towards Dommeldange, where the official start will be given in front of the Alvisse Parc Hotel. Right from day one, the riders face a demanding challenge that could already have a decisive impact on the general classification., as within just forty kilometers, three tough climbs will test the peloton.

The Spuerkeess Bonus Sprint, positioned 51 km from the finish, will be a strategic opportunity for the GC contenders. A second intermediate sprint in Mersch (23.9 km from the finish) will give the sprinters their chance to score points.
As in 2024, the stage will finish at the Fëschmaart in the center of Luxembourg City. But this time, the riders must tackle the full Montée de Clausen – an explosive finale that promises plenty of fireworks.
