The first weekend of July will be dedicated to top-level cycling. With the European Youth Criterium, the GP Général Patton, and the GP de Luxembourg, TDL Organisation will once again offer the world’s best young riders the opportunity to showcase their talent on Luxembourg’s roads.

These competitions provide young talents with a unique opportunity to compete against the elite of their generation, gain valuable international experience, and develop the essential skills required to reach the highest level of the sport.

In addition, in collaboration with the Luxembourg Cycling Federation (F.S.C.L.), TDL Organisation will also organize the U23 Four Nations Championship (Men and Women), further strengthening Luxembourg’s position as a host nation and development hub for international cycling.

27th European Youth Criterium

On the occasion of the 27th edition of the European Youth Criterium, the best young riders (U17) will compete in two demanding stages around Weiswampach and Parc Hosingen. The event serves as an ideal showcase for young riders seeking to attract the attention of scouts from major professional teams.

Recent winners include Cian Uijtdebroeks (winner in 2019) and Marco Brenner (winner in 2018), both of whom have since progressed to the highest level of world cycling. Uijtdebroeks currently rides for Movistar Team, while Brenner competes for Tudor Pro Cycling Team.

More than 30 teams representing 9 nations will take part. Luxembourg will be represented by four teams: Cycling Team Atertdaul, SAF Zéisseng, UC Dippach, and Team Lëtzebuerg.

76th GP Général Patton

The 76th GP Général Patton will take place on July 4 around Weiswampach. History has shown that this race often serves as a stepping stone to a successful professional career. Former winners include Remco Evenepoel (2018), Marc Hirschi (2015), and Alexandr Vlasov (2014), all of whom first showcased their talent on Luxembourg roads before establishing themselves among the world’s leading cyclists.

This year, 29 teams from 11 nations will be on the start line. With nine participating teams, Belgium will be the most represented nation. Several development teams linked to renowned professional structures will also be present, including Lidl-Trek Junior Racing, Decathlon CMA U19, Soudal Quick-Step U19, and grenke-Auto Eder, the development team of Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe.

Luxembourg will field two selections of six riders each: Team Lëtzebuerg and SAF Zéisseng.

6th GP de Luxembourg

The best Junior riders will return the day after the GP Patton for the sixth edition of the GP de Luxembourg, held around Parc Hosingen.

Although relatively new, the race has already established a strong reputation as a talent identifier. Among the riders who distinguished themselves three years ago were Mathieu Kockelmann and Belgian rider Jarno Widar, who now compete for Team Lotto-Intermarché.

U23 Four Nations Championship (Men and Women)

At the same time, TDL Organisation, in cooperation with the Luxembourg Cycling Federation (FSCL), will organize the U23 Four Nations Championship featuring Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Luxembourg.

The women’s U23 championship will take place on Saturday on a 10.6-kilometre circuit around Weiswampach, covering a total distance of 95.3 kilometres.

The U23 men will face the relentless climbs and descents of the Oesling region before entering the final 12.9-kilometre circuit around Parc Hosingen which they will complete seven times.

A Weekend of Top-Class Cycling

During these two days, Luxembourg cycling fans will have the opportunity to witness several high-level competitions and discover the talents who may shape the future of international cycling.
