Strong riders at the start of the Škoda Tour LuXembourg

The Škoda Tour LuXembourg will start on Tuesday with a strong line-up. The six WorldTour teams are bringing some of the best known riders. Poland’s Rafal Majka of UAE Team Emirates is racing for the first time since the Tour de France, where he showed remarkable support for runner-up Tadej Pogacar in the mountains. Majka has won several stages in the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España, as well as two wins in the best climber classification of the Grande Boucle.

Matteo Trentin is also a member of the UAE Team Emirates. The 33-year-old Italian has won a total of eight stages in the three Grand Tours, including three in the Tour de France.

Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team is represented by Davide Ballerini, winner of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad 2021, and French champion Florian Sénéchal, winner of a stage at the Vuelta a Espana 2021. Italian rider Giulio Ciccone, who has already celebrated his third stage victory at the Giro d’Italia this year and who won it’s best climber classification three years ago, will ride for Trek-Segafredo. He will be accompanied by Gianluca Brambilla, who also won a stage at the Giro and at the Vuelta.

The Groupama-FDJ team will line up Luxemburgish rider Kevin Geniets and the Frenchman Valentin Madouas, who finished tenth in the overall classification of the 2022 Tour de France.

But beware also of the team Cofidis which includes in its ranks the Spaniard Jesús Herrada, winner of the 2019 edition, and Anthony Perez, double stage winner of the Škoda Tour LuXembourg.

Please note that this press release is based on a provisional startlist, which could change at any time.
