A day for the sprinters

Today’s stage is expected to suit the sprinters, although several climbs could add some tension along the way. After the start in Remich, the peloton will take on the Côte de Wintrange before heading back towards the Moselle for the first intermediate sprint in Remich (km 39.8). From there, the riders will tackle the Côte de Remerschen and continue tot he west of the country.
The Spuerkeess Bonus Sprint will take place in Steinfort, followed by the short but steep climb to Mariendallerhaff. A second intermediate sprint, located 30.4 km from the finish, will offer additional points. The final circuit in Mamer (15.2 km to be covered twice) should allow the sprinters’ teams to set up their chase.
The stage ends in Mamer, close to the home of Nicolas Frantz, double Tour de France winner – a symbolic tribute to Luxembourg’s cycling heritage.
