Safety First

For many years, the organizers of the Škoda Tour de Luxembourg have placed the highest priority on the safety of everyone involved – especially the riders.

Riding against the race direction is strictly prohibited. Roads will be closed to traffic in both directions approximately 10 minutes before the passage of the lead vehicle, marked with a red flag. They will reopen only after the “green flag” vehicle, which signals the end of the race, has passed. In particularly sensitive areas, such as descents, access roads against the race direction will be blocked earlier to prevent any risk.

To ensure a safe race, the organization relies on the understanding and cooperation of all road users. During the entire event, it is essential to follow the instructions of the Police and marshals at all times.

Collaboration with ACL, Safe Cycling and WAZE

To further enhance safety for the riders, the company Safe Cycling will install LED warning panels (sponsored by ACL) to signal upcoming obstacles and dangerous sections. They also provide additional protective equipment along the route.

Thanks to a cooperation with the navigation app WAZE, road closures related to the Škoda Tour de Luxembourg will be displayed in real time. Further information will also be available via the traffic updates on rtl.lu and acl.lu.
