Skjelmose Jensen wins the SkodaTour LuXembourg 2022

The last stage of the SkodaTour LuXembourg featured 178 km on a hilly course. In the end, Mattias Skjelmose Jensen (TFS) didn’t let himself be robbed of the overall victory. He won by 5” over Kévin Vauquelin (ARK) and 17” over Valentin Madouas (GFC). Madouas won the last stage.

Especially Vauquelin, Madouas and Kevin Geniets (GFC) tried to put Skjelmose Jensen under pressure in the difficult final. But in the end, the four riders reached the finish line together, where Skjelmose Jensen secured the overall victory with the 2nd place in the stage.

Joel Nicolau Beltran (CJR) secured the victory in the best climbers classification. Matteo Trentin (UAD) wins the points classification and Skjelmose Jensen also prevails in the classification of the best young rider.

Mattias Skjelmose Jensen: “I knew it could be tight with the time bonuses at the end. I am super happy. I turn 22 this month. With yesterday’s stage win I celebrated the first success of my professional career. To win the general classification is great. The SkodaTour LuXembourg is a big race. I couldn’t have had a better preparation for the World Championships.”
