Main partner and official automobile since 2005 already, Škoda Luxembourg extends its commitment to the Tour de Luxembourg for another 3 years. The contract was signed in the presence of the president of “TDL Organisation a.s.b.l.” Andy Schleck and representatives of Škoda Luxembourg. The vehicles made available will enable the organizers and management of the Skoda Tour de Luxembourg to travel or will be used as escort and service vehicles.
As a major partner and vehicle supplier, on September 20, 2023 Škoda Luxembourg will start the Skoda Tour de Luxembourg for the 19th consecutive edition. Since 2005, the Czech manufacturer has supplied the official cars for the entire organization, but also equips various teams as well as race officials and organizers with vehicles.
“We’re proud to have the Škoda brand with its genuine passion for cycling by our side, and to be able to count on this high-performance partner for years to come. “, says Andy Schleck, president of the non-profit Škoda Tour de Luxembourg support association.
Year after year, Škoda Luxembourg has made available models from its range that meet the needs of the Tour’s organizers. In 2023, Škoda Luxembourg wants to take action on the Tour’s carbon footprint by further increasing the 100% electric vehicles made available. The Enyaq, the race’s opening vehicle, always stands out in particular.
This event is also a good opportunity for Skoda Luxembourg to highlight its new graphic identity, which will be used throughout the Tour.
Simon Schories, Brand Manager Škoda in Luxembourg, points out, ” Our long-standing commitment to cycling is among the cornerstones of our sponsorship activities in the sport. In the early days of our company, the founders, Václav Laurin and Václav Klement, first built and manufactured bicycles. So bicycles are part of our identity. We look forward to continuing to support this major sporting event in Luxembourg for years to come. “
The cooperation with the sports organizer includes not only the Tour de Luxembourg but also many other cycling races in Luxembourg. But the close link between Škoda and cycling goes beyond simple sponsorship measures. With WeLoveCycling.com, Škoda manages an international corporate website with cycling-related content, while at national level Škoda Luxembourg supports young Luxembourg talent with its Cycling Talents platform.
